On Memorial Day Monday May 30, Clute Phillips American Legion Post 938 will be conducting their annual Memorial Day parade in Middleport. All Legionnairts and local Veterans of all services (Air Force, Army , Marines, Navy and Coast Guard) are invited to participate and attend this grand event. Civic groups are also encouraged to participate in this parade to show their support that honors to our fallen and deceased veterans. The Parade begins at noon, assembling on S Hartland St behind the Village Hall. A Memorial service is conducted at the Veterans Park on Park Ave immediately following the Parade. The Middleport Fire Dept. will hold a memorial service and the public is encouraged to attend this eventful day in Middleport.

  Clute-Phillips Post 938 is also conducting their Annual Benefit of Memorial Fund tickets sales. Tickets are available for sale now they are a $5 a ticket-only 300 tickets sold. Our annual fund raiser has money prizes first $200, Second 100 and third place 50 and fourth and fifth 25. Drawing is conducted after the memorial day parade.  Welcome back to the Middleport Community Farmers Market! The market begins again in the parking lot of Middleport Family Health/Wilson Farms at 2 p.m. until 6 .p.m on Friday June 10! The Market will be open each Friday until Halloween. The Farmers Market accepts EBT, EIC, FMNP and SFMNP benefits. Prudom Farms is also thinking of adding a Tuesday afternoon in Middleport to the schedule. Fans of the Arts will enjoy the most recent show at the Market Street Art Center in Lockport. Local Artist JosephWhalen and Mark Weld have their work on display in the downstairs gallery. Joseph Whalen’s work is called ,”Paintings from Sketches, Sketches of Life” and Mark Weld, “Responses”. The Gallery upstairs includes the work of students of six teachers associated with the Market Street Art Center and the Third Gallery includes the work of Lockport High School Students. Make sure to see all the galleries, the students work is on the top floor.  Check out www.marketstreetartcenter.org for more information.

   The group NorthCoast performed in the upstairs gallery and Mike Ennis of Danny Sheehan’s Steakhouse donated wine for the art reception. The show is open until June 17 and you can stop in the Center Mon to Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. or Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
