The Middleport Community Choir (MCC) presents “Many Voices, One Song,” a concert of more than 150 singers, at 7 p.m. on October 23 at the Royalton-Hartland High School. The evening concert will be the culmination of a full day of rehearsals for performers participating in MCC’s first annual Choral Invitational featuring guest conductor, Dr. R. Douglas Helvering from the Westminster Choir College in Princeton Junction, NJ. Individual singers and entire choirs including MCC, the Irondequoit Chorale and the Genesee Chorale will come together to learn new techniques and share their talents with other music lovers. The concert will feature selections composed or arranged by Helvering including Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing and Wade In The Water. Singers who would like to participate in the Invitational and evening concert may register online at www.Middleportcommunitychoir.com before October 8. Tickets for the concert are $5 and free for children 12 and under, and will be available at the door. The Choral Invitational and Concert is made possible, in part, with funds from the Arts Niagara Decentralization Program, a re-grant program of the New York State Council on the Arts, administered by the Tonawandas’ Council on the Arts/ Carnegie Art Center.
