         The Middleport Community Input Group meeting will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on September 15 at the Masonic Hall, 20 Main Street in Middleport. All residents and property owners are welcome to stop by during the meeting. Come and join in the discussion. A light meal will be available. This is a critical time for the residents of Middleport who live or own property within the study areas. The Corrective Measures Study Work Plan is about to be finalized. This plan will provide the procedures for determining which properties will be recommended for remedial action and what methods will be used. The Middleport Community Input Group would like your opinions, no matter what side of the issue you’re on.          It’s time to cruise into Middleport on Sunday, September 13 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to enjoy some great oldies, both cars and sounds from the past. The Village is sponsoring a Car Cruise and Main Street will be lined with muscle cars, hot rods, street rods and many more great rides.

     Local radio personality Hank Nevins will be the emcee for Middleport’s car cruise and he will be providing the tunes along with his huge collection of old jingles, commercials and show themes as well as the music from the 50s, 60s and 70s.

 Purchase a hot dog while you are checking out the hot cars. Meet the members of the Roy-Hart Business and Professional Association . There will also be other local vendors  there to provide refreshments.

  Mighty Wurlitzer organ fans will be happy to see Byron Jones return to the console of the Lockport Theatre’s Mighty Wurlitzer Theatre Pipe Organ. The concert starts at 7 p.m. on Monday September 14 2009.  In his program, the “Welsh Wizard plays with a mastery of the organ and from up tempo tunes to nostalgic favorites.

   Jones has been playing since he was younger in his native Risca, South Wales. He has played both classical and popular engagements all over the UK.

  The concert begins at 7 p.m. at the Dale Association Senior Citizens’s center at 33 Ontario St in Lockport. Admission is $6 and cookies and beverages will be available at intermission by donation.

        The Friends of the Middleport Free Library group is holding their Annual Used Book sale from 12 -3 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. The books sell for twenty five cents for paperbacks and $1 for hard covers on Friday. Saturday is the bag sale for $2 a bag all day. Shop for your used books and VHS and DVD movies/music at  the Middleport Free Library’s Labor Day Book Sale.
