         Boy Scout Troop 23 will be serving a breakfast next Saturday, September 5th from 7-11AM at the Masonic Hall on Main Street in Middleport.  All proceeds benefit the MDA and the Challenger Sports League.  Cost is $5 for 11 years and up and $2.50 for 10 years old and under.  If you are in town and up for a hearty breakfast, stop on by!

            The Middleport Community Farmers Market will run from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. each Friday until October 30.  Pick up all your fresh produce and meet local farmers every Friday at the parking lot of the Middleport Family Health Center on Route 31 in Middleport.  The market has a lot to offer and  the market is a Certified Farmers Market by the USDA and NY State AG and Market. The farmer vendors can accept EBT Card (food stamps), WIC and Farm Market Coupons. It’s a great place to do your weekly shopping; hope to see everyone down at the market!

As part of the Middleport festivities, the Middleport Methodist Church will be holding their 13th annual chicken BBQ from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. or sold out on September 5. The menu includes a half chicken prepared by Barker Lions, buttered garlic and herb potatoes, corn, roll, dessert and beverage. Pre-sale tickets are $7 and available thru August 28, or $8 at the door. Dinners are eat in or take out. For tickets please call Gail at 735-7800 or Julie at 735-7631. 

    Sign up has started for vendors and crafters to join in the fun at the Village Green (Park Ave between Main and Vernon) during the Middleport Sesquicentennial Festivities on September 5. There are still a few spots left. You can register with Mayor Julie Maedl at 735-7631.

Niagara Broadcast Network

 There is a new digital internet radio show broadcast from Niagara Falls NY. Check out the article in the Niagara Gazette written by Rick Pfieffer.

  Here is the link to check it out. I enjoyed the replayed show that I watched(filmed during the day but I watched it later at night) It features lively hosts, great conversation and  sports . People that have moved from the Niagara Falls area can catch up on the Niagara Falls community.  Coffee lovers will be happy to see the morning show hosts Sal and Roe were drinking Tim Hortons coffee! I will definately check in again.

  The Lockport Theatre Organ Society presents Kevin Scott at the Mighty Wurlitzer Organ at 7 p.m. on August 17.  See Kevin Scott at the Lockport Senior Center at 33 Ontario St in Lockport.

  Refreshments will be served during the intermission and admission is $6. There is free parking in back of the Senior Center.

      Sue Palmer, clerk at the Middleport Free Library is planning a showcase in September . The project will feature a showcase in the library with memorabilia from Middleport’s 1959 Centennial Celebration.
   The library is asking for Towpath Partyline and Lynnemarieseveryday.wordpress.com readers to bring in anything they might have at home to show in the collection.

  The library will return your items or if you wish to donate the items you can them for the Library’s Local History Archives.

There is an opening for the Loyal Royhart Football League. They are still looking for one more player before the opening game on Aug 29.  Requirements are that the beginning player must be 6 years of age before Dec 1, 2009 and not more than 7 years old on that date.
